Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms in Sparta were honored with the rare distinction of "Europe's Best Olive Producer" by the European Council of Gastronomy and Oenology, which was held this year in Valencia, Spain. It is the first time that an olive producer from any European country has been awarded, in the seventeen years that the high degree of difficulty culinary awards have been held.
