FYLLIKON Protelaio -SILVER MEDAL at the 3RD BIOLNOVELLO 2016/2017

The olive harvest year for 2016/17 commenced with a great international award for Sakellaropoulos Organic Farming.

Between November 25th and 27th, 2016, in Bologna, Italy, the 3rd BIOLNOVELLO 2016/2017 took place, which is the international competition for “fresh” organic olive oil of the new season with expert panel tasters.

The participants were from many different countries such as Spain, France, Portugal, Greece, Croatia, etc., but mainly from Italy due to the locality, from outstanding regions such as Sicily, Tuscany, Puglia, Sardinia, Calabria, Umbria, etc.

The results were announced today and Sakellaropoulos Organic Estates were evaluated and honored with a very high score, attaining the SIVER MEDAL for their organic olive oil of the new harvest season.

This great distinction in this year’s competition, the 3rd BIOLNOVELLO 16 / 17, constitutes the 55th international award for Sakellaropoulos Estates, the 8th international award for FYLLIKON protelaio, and the 17th award for the year 2016.

The silver award for FYLLIKON protelaio is a great reward and compensation for me and my co-workers on our efforts, especially for this 2016/17 harvest season, since it is one of the worst seasons for the Greek olive oil production the last 70 years.
