An extremely honorable distinction by taste professionals for Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms, in the 8th edition of the OLYMP TASTE AWARDS 2023, which is specialized in the evaluation of quality food by distinguished chefs and tasters.
It took place from 1 to 8 July 2023, for the 8th consecutive year. It is a meeting of the best food producers from Greece and abroad, a unique event on the subject of tasting unique products of the agricultural and food sector.
The hundreds of high-quality samples that participated were tasted by numerous panels of judges under the auspices of the Ministries of Rural Development and Tourism, the Union of Hellenic Chambers of Commerce, the group for UNESCO Piraeus, CEUCO, the Club Acropolis - Chef's Club of Attica along with experts in the field of gastronomy from the Chefs' Club of Northern Greece, the Chefs' Club of Western Greece & Epirus as well as the Corfu Chefs' Club.
The samples were evaluated by the Olymp Awards Chef's Jury Panel, with Panel Leader Konstantinos Mouzakis, Mr.Chef Europe 2015, Director Gastronomy Club Unesco, Member WACS, and members of the judging panel with many well-known names, in the field of this beautiful complex knowledge and experience of the panel of judges. Indicatively, the well-known chefs of the Greek Presidential Republic, Thanasis Skouras and Vassilis Bekas, are mentioned.
It should be noted that all the products that participated in the competition were tested by the judges with the blind tasting method, without packaging, and without any kind of distinctive element. Each product is assigned a code to ensure their reliable tracking.
Each judge performed an organoleptic analysis of the tested product, and recorded a numerical score on the assessment sheet that represented the general sense as well as other criteria, such as appearance, smell, texture, taste, and oral sensation.
Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms participated in the international competition OLYMP TASTE AWARDS 2023, with six table olives samples as well as 7 gourmet and organic olive oils.
Collecting extremely high scores from the judges of the competition, among others, they were honored for their 13 olive products that participated, with exceptional awards:
• 5 platinum awards with scores over 96%
• 7 gold awards and scores up to 95%
• 1 silver award with a score of up to 85%
In particular, the olive products by Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms "Kalamata Organic Olives" and "TELIES Gourmet Olives" were both honored with the rare and historic score of 100 points (100 / 100) and awarded Platinum Awards, by the specialized chefs and tasters of the OLYMP TASTE AWARDS 2023, while "MILENIES Gourmet Olives" were very close with the very high score of 98 points (98/100).
At the same time, two gourmet olive oils by Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms, "Flavored Gourmet ENIGMA" and "OLEOASTRON Gourmet evoo", were at the top of the competition with scores of 99 points (99 / 100), honored with Platinum Awards.
These honorary scores of 100 / 100 are the absolute and historic scoring record given to competing products, from the beginning of the TASTE OLYMP AWARDS gastronomic competition, until today. It is worth noting that it is very rare for an international taste and quality competition to attribute a score of 100/100.
It is a major moment and an important international distinction for Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms to achieve such scores.
